Dear Members,

Club News Magazine & Commuincation with Members

Club administration has deemed it’s an appropriate time to transfer to more digital forms of communication with members. It’s considered best to modernize and align with public expectation of instant communication and hence improve the speed Club news reaches our members. This will be the last edition of the Club Magazine that we will be mailed to members. Bi-monthly magazines will now be available online or emailed to members. Editions are available on our website to view at any time. For those members who prefer a printed copy, copies will be available at each Club’s reception.

Not only are we moving with the times, we are reducing our reliance on paper, reducing our environmental impact. Each year the Club mails over 120,000 editions to members that ultimately end up as waste. That’s a lot of paper. It’s time to go green!

While some things are changing, others are not. The vouchers you have previously received in the magazine and flysheet will now be available through the Reward Terminals. Simply swipe your membership card each visit to see what you have been rewarded.

If you haven’t previously provided your email or mobile phone number, I encourage you to opt in for digital notices by updating your details to include your email address and or mobile number so we can contact you.

The Clubs Facebook and Instagram pages are updated daily so I encourage you to Like and Follow us online. A new look website and the Club’s very own app are all in the development stages. This will allow members to have access with the Club in the palm of their hands and even renew membership online.

 

Club Events

Our 3 Clubs have run some amazing events this year thanks to the efforts of our professional and very proficient Events Team lead by Jill Durant, Events Manager and Andrew Prasad, Executive Chef. Examples of these most successful events include the Local Business Awards with 600 in attendance and the Sub Branch Centenary Dinner which was a massive success. The highlight of the 100th Anniversary Dinner was a brilliant spellbinding speech by Dr Brendan Nelson AO, Director of the Australian War Memorial.

Club Burwood RSL Entertainment

The Club is providing the best Australian entertainment possible and suitable international shows when they tour. Tickets are great value and are priced to offset the cost of the entertainment, not to make a profit. The Club’s mix of entertainment is proving very popular. In summary the schedule is:
Friday Nights: Burwood's Got Talent every second Friday night, free admittance. At least once a month is The Mandarin Band or another Asian Band.

Saturday Nights: Concerts every second Saturday Night. The alternate Saturday night is Club 30 Dance, free admittance.

Showtime is the third Tuesday bi-monthly. Includes lunch just $17.
